Grey Wrought Iron Balcony
Gorgeous watercolor invitation featuring my very own professional watercolor image of one of the many wrought iron balconies found in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Louisiana was ruled by Spain between 1762 and 1803, and it was during this period that some of the most notable wrought iron designs appeared. One example is a railing of Cupid's arrows and hearts that may have been a popular design amongst fathers announcing their daughters* eligibility for marriage. This Pat O'Brien's save the date features my very own professional watercolor image of the famous Pat O'Brien's on the front with fun Mardi Gras masks and New Orleans drinks such as the Bloody Mary, the Hand Grenade, and, of course, the Hurricane on the back! In 1971, the streets of Chartres, St. Peter and St. Ann were closed off to serve as a flagstone pedestrian mall packed with street musicians, tarot readers and painters. The Napoleon House
Few places capture the essence of New Orleans like The Napoleon House. The building is a 200 year old landmark showcasing arched doorways, wrought iron balconies and tiled floors, reflecting the French and Spanish influences that have shaped New Orleans. The building's first occupant, Nicholas Girod, was mayor of New Orleans from 1812 to 1815. He offered his residence to Napoleon in 1821 as a refuge during his exile. Jackson Square is located in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. The square itself is named after Andrew Jackson, the hero of the Battle of New Orleans. The Coke Plant in Bogalusa, Louisiana is a newly renovated wedding event space boasting a rich history dating back to the 1930's. Architecturally, the former Bogalusa Coca-Cola Bottling Plant is a testament to the design trends of its era.
